The unit is used to protect AC equipment from single phase and under voltage i.e. AC generators and induction motors.

Frequency relay applied as a back up protection to mechanical over speed devices to avoid damages to prime mover. Under frequency relay to protect field winding from excessive excitation current from voltage regulator. Under and Over frequency relay applied to monitor network or generator frequency.

This unit functions when the over current in an AC circuit exceeds a given value, normally used for selective over load, short circuit and earth fault tripping. The operation time is fixed time relay set by the pot which will not change with the percentage of the fault current.
